No sexual molestation charges against Ness Wadia, says Preity's lawyer

Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia
In a major U-turn, Preity Zinta's lawyer Hitesh Jain revealed yesterday that there was no reference to molestation or any other sexual allegory in Preity's complaint. While molestation may not have been expressly mentioned in the complaint, legal pundits say that Ness's act of allegedly grabbing Ms Zinta's arm without her consent amounts to molestation under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code. Meanwhile, the actress is still out of country and the police have given her time till Thursday to appear before them for recording her elaborate complaint as the current one is not sufficient enough. Sources say that the tiff between Preity and Ness started when Ness saw the front row seats at the plush Garware stand occupied by Preity and cricketer David Miller's family. Ness, who walked in a little after 8 pm was accompanied by his family members. On seeing the front row seats occupied, Ness asked Kings XI CEO Fraser to get them vacated for his family. When Fraser put in a word with Preity, the latter allegedly refused to budge leading to a heated exchange of words between Ness and herself. A teary eyed Preity later reportedly told IPL chairman Ranjib Biswal about the entire incident but no formal complaint was ever lodged with the BCCI. As the police await Preity's return, they are also scrutinising evidence from the CCTV footage. The BCCI meanwhile has offered to share the name of thirty persons, all of whom occupied the front row seats that ill-fated day. Let's wait and watch where the case proceeds after Preity's return.
