MUMBAI :The Marathi film industry woke up to the sudden death of veteran Marathi actor Ravindra Mahajani. He was 77. He was residing at Aambi in Maval taluka of Pune for the last eight months. The actor’s body was found in the locked room of his home in Pune. The actor was said to be living all alone for the last 7-8 months.

Ravindra was staying in a rented flat. Neighbors complained of a foul smell coming out of the flat on Friday and thus informed the police. The cops had to break open the door and found him dead in his room. Well known TV and film actor Gashmeer Mahajani is his only son.
Ravindra dominated the Marathi film industry between 1975 and 1990. He got immense fame for his films Mumbaicha Faujdar and Devta. His pairing with Ranjana Deshmukh was loved by all.
Born in Belgaum, Ranvindra later came to Mumbai and completed his studies here. He made his acting debut in the film Jhunj in 1974.
