MUMBAI : Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh starrer Ved has turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. The Marathi film took a slow start but, later it showed fantastic growth and even in its third week, the movie has been doing well at the box office.
Recently, the film entered Rs. 50 crore club and it has become the second highest-grossing Marathi film. Sairat is the highest-grossing Marathi movie with a collection of Rs. 80.98 crores at the Indian box office, and the worldwide collection of the film is Rs. 110 crores.
Riteish took to Twitter to thank everyone for giving his film such a good response. He tweeted, “We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for accepting VED as your own film and showering unconditional love. #50cr #50crores.”

The movie marked the actor’s directorial debut, and Genelia’s Marathi film debut. Both the actors are getting a lot of praises for their performance in Ved. Recently, in an Instagram live, Riteish revealed that a few scenes and a song will be added in the movie. The song which will be added in the film will be a romantic track between Riteish and Genelia.
Ved is a remake of the Telugu film Majili which starred ex-couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. While remakes have not been doing well at the box office, the success of Drishyam 2 and Ved prove that if remakes are made well, they can become hits at the box office.
