MUMBAI :2022 ended on a good note for Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh. Their Marathi film Ved, which was released on 30th December 2022, took a decent start, but thanks to positive word of mouth, the movie showed a huge jump in the coming days and till now, it is doing well at the box office.
On its day 12, the film has reportedly collected around Rs. 2 crores, taking the till date totally to Rs. 37.77 crores. The movie has already surpassed the box office collection of Riteish Deshmukh’s Lai Bhaari which had minted Rs. 35 crores.

Ved marked the directorial debut of Riteish and it is Genelia’s first Marathi film as a lead. Everyone has been praising Riteish’s direction, and even the actress’ performance in it is being appreciated a lot.
The movie is a remake of the Telugu film Majili which starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles. Even the Telugu film was a super hit at the box office, and now, it has done well in Marathi as well.
Ved has also surpassed the lifetime collection of many Hindi films that were released in 2022. A lot of people had started discussions on social media that remakes won’t be doing well at the box office. But, Drishyam 2 and Ved have proved everyone wrong. It proves that if a remake is well-made, it will do well at the box office.
