Arundhati’s fellow actor and close friend Remyaa Joseph has now shared that her family is struggling for financial help. Remyaa said, “Arundhathi has done five films in Tamil as the female lead. She is so severely injured that till yesterday the doctors suspected she could be brain dead. Yet, no one from the Tamil film industry or its nadigar sangam contacted us. I know it is not mandatory, but it would have been nice if someone had called and asked how she is doing even, forget about monetary help.”

Despite hailing from Thiruvananthapuram, Nair has acted in only 1 Malayalam film and Remyaa said that only 1 call to the industry made them pitch in to help!

Arudhati’s sister Arathy said, “My sister is so severely injured that she is the priority at the Ananthapuri Hospital for the last couple of days specially. And yet, many people are saying online that this is all a scam. We had to deal with that kind of negativity when we are all running around in the hospital.”

Remyaa further added, “As we were in the hospital, she took the initiative to start the fundraising. Arundhathi is the sole breadwinner of her family. They are not a well to do family and require financial help in clearing up the medical bills to treat her further. A few of her actor friends are chipping in, but we can only do so much, it's not like we earn in crores.”

Arundhati has unfortunately suffered collarbone and arm fracture which has so far cost nearly Rs. 5Lakhs. Remyaa further said, “I can't even imagine how much the hospital will charge when they must finally fix her brain. We are waiting for her to stabilise a bit to do further operations, she already had two cardiac arrests.”

“Can you imagine how insensitive we have become to call a number of someone who has their loved one admitted in a hospital, and who is fighting for her life, and ask for contact details of other celebrities? That's how bad some of the calls were” concluded Remyaa.

Arundhathi debuted in 2014 with the Tamil film Pongi Ezhu Manohara. She went on to act in films like Saithan and Pistha. She debuted in Malayalam in 2018 with the film Ottakoru Kaamukan in which she was paired with Shine Tom Chacko and was last seen in the 2023 film Aayiram Porkaasukal. She also acted in the Malayalam TV show Kerala Samajam from 2019-20. In 2021 she starred in the Malayalam web-series Padmini and the Tamil show Don’t Think.
