MUMBAI:  Dulquer Salmaan has earned the coveted title of ‘national heartthrob’ in recent years, and with each new project, he consistently demonstrates why no one else can match his charm. Jasleen Royal’s latest music video, Heeriye, serves as a clear example of his lasting appeal.

Following his captivating and enchanting performance in Hanu Raghavapudi’s Sita Ramam, which deeply resonated with thousands of film viewers, Dulquer Salmaan has made a triumphant return in the music video Heeriye, portraying a prince charming, captivating and enchanting more hearts. DQ recently opened up about the most demanding aspect of acting in a music video.

While conversing with Sucharita Tyagi, he revealed that lip-syncing posed one of the greatest challenges during the process. When questioned about what was more difficult for him as an actor, laughing, convincingly dying or lip-syncing, DQ promptly responded, “Laughing comes easy to me. Dying is a bit weird because none of us know how would it be to die. Lip-syncing is a bit tricky. Based on the research I did and interviews of actors, who aced this, that I watched, I understood that you need to sing loudly and not just mouth. It can be really bad singing, but still…”

The actor also discussed his dancing abilities, admitting, “I have some weird disconnect between my upper body and lower body. They are not friends. I can only move one part of my body at a time, either upper or lower. I am happiest when presented with songs that require no dancing.” 

When questioned about the recent movie or show he watched and liked, DQ mentioned Vikramaditya Motwane and Soumik Sen’s period drama TV series Jubilee. “I really enjoyed it. It’s so well-made and well-mounted.”

Sung by Jasleen and Arijit Singh, Heeriye portrays a beautiful tale where Dulquer plays the role of a prince charming who ventures beyond the realm of dreams to be with the woman (Jasleen) who envisions him. 

A contemporary adaptation of Heer Ranjha, one of the four popular tragic romances of Punjab, Heeriye conveys that true love can overcome any obstacles.

DQ, who was last seen in R Balki’s crime thriller Chup Revenge of the Artist, is now gearing up for the biggest project in his career, King of Kotha, which will hit the theatres during the Onam season this year.
