MUMBAI :The South film fraternity went into shock after they woke up to the news of well-known art director Sunil Babu. He died of a heart attack on Thursday night and was 50 years old. His recent work included Thalapathi Vijay’s upcoming film Varisu, which is a few days away from its theatrical release. The film will hit cinemas on January 11, 2023.

Actor Dulquer Salmaan who has worked with Sunil in Bangalore Days and Sita Ramam penned a heartfelt tribute to the Malayalam film production designer and art director on his social media page writing, “Heart hurts. The kindest warmest soul who quietly went about his work with so much passion and made no noise about his immense talent. Suniletta thank you for the memories. You brought life to our films. Can’t come to terms with this. Praying for your family and all those who loved you dearly.” Many celebs took to their social media pages to pay their respects to the artist.
Sunil Babu began his showbiz journey as an assistant to art director Sabu Cyril. Some of Sunil’s noted works are in films like Thupakki, Bheeshma Parvam, Maharshi, Oopiri, Ghajini, Premam, Chota Mumbai, M.S Dhoni, and more. His funeral is expected to take place today.

Sunil Babu is survived by his wife and a daughter named Arya Saraswati.
