MUMBAI: A lot of actors have come and gone but only a few stood the test of time. Every generation produces actors but not all generations produce legends. Certainly, witnessing someone adeptly portray a variety of roles over an extended period allows us to label them as a legendary actor, an expert, a perfectionist, a veteran, or a natural actor.

Over time, we have seen some really good performances from well-known actors in a variety of genres and what a treat it has been. Usually, we have seen some dual roles in the movie but not a lot of movies have we seen where the dual roles are against each other, playing the hero AND the villain.

So we are here with a list of actors who played the hero and the villain in the same movie. Take a look at the list below:

Rajinikanth - Enthiran

In Enthiran, Rajinikanth took on a dual role, portraying both a scientist and a robot. The movie revolves around the love story between the scientist and his girlfriend, Sana. However, the plot takes a turn when Chitti, the robot created by the scientist, falls in love with Sana, eventually becoming the antagonist. Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Lal Salaam, which was initially slated for release in January, has been postponed.

Kamal Haasan – Aalavandhan

This movie tells the tale of two brothers who were abused by their stepmothers in their childhood. While one brother, Vijay decides to marry the love of his life, another brother, Nandu, who is mentally ill gets fixated on killing Vijay’s fiancé because he sees her as his stepmother. Kamal Haasan plays the role of Nandu and Vijay in this movie and has given some memorable performances earlier too. He will be seen in the upcoming movie Kalki 2898 AD.

Ajith Kumar – Vaalee

Once again, it’s a tale of two brothers Deva and Shiva. Deva falls in love with his brother Shiva’s wife and his obsession grows to such a level that he follows the couple even on their honeymoon. Ajith Kumar is recognized for their role in Vikram Vedha and has given some impressive performances over the years. He will be seen in his upcoming movie AK63 which is still in talks.

Vijay – Azhagiya Tamizh Magan

Last year we watched Vijay’s performance in the LCU movie Leo. In this movie, we saw Vijay playing dual roles wherein Guru falls in love with Abhinaya but soon comes to know about his mental illness – Extra Sensory Perception. Guru comes to know about his illness and decides to move away to Mumbai as he gets a vision in his head that he is going to kill his wife. But after moving to Mumbai, Guru runs into Prasad who is a greedy person with no limits. Soon, Prasad enters Abhinaya’s life and decides to marry her for the money. What goes in later is something that you should not miss. Vijay’s upcoming movie is The Greatest of All Time.

Vikram – Iru Mugan

Vikram has been loved by the audience because of his performances. In Iru Mugan, Vikram plays the character of Akhilan, an ex-agent. Someone attacks the Indian Embassy in Malaysia and a twist comes in when Vikram meets his enemy who looks exactly like him. He will soon be seen in the upcoming movie Chiyaan 62.

Surya – 24

This is a unique story about 2 twin brothers. While one becomes a scientist and invents a time-travelling watch, the other one becomes jealous and tries to capture it in his own way. The story of the movie is quite amazing. Surya will be soon seen at the Party.
