Kumkum Bhagya (English title: Twist of Fate) is an Indian drama television series produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. It premiered on April 15, 2014 on Zee TV.[3] The series initially starred Sriti Jha, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Shikha Singh, Mugdha Chaphekar, Naina Singh and Krishna Kaul. Reyhna Malhotra replaced Shikha Singh as Alia and Pooja Banerjee replaced Naina Singh as Rhea. Kumkum Bhagya is loosely based on Jane Austen's 1811 novel Sense and Sensibility.The series started as the story of Pragya, Bulbul and their mother Sarla Arora's hope to see them married. Later, the show revolved around Abhi and Pragya.On March 18, 2019, after Abhi and Pragya's separation, a twenty-year leap was introduced. Post-leap, Mugdha Chaphekar and Naina Singh (later replaced by Pooja Banerjee) were introduced as Abhi and Pragya's separated twin daughters, Prachi Mehra and Rhea Mehra. And mainly the story revolves around them.
