Sachin Pilgaonkar launches daughter Shriya in Ekulti Ek

UFO Moviez India Ltd, in association with Sushriya Chitra announced a first-of-its kind film marketing campaign for the upcoming Marathi film <em>Ekulti Ek</em> by way of a contest. Directed by veteran actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar, <em>Ekulti Ek</em> will be the debut film for Sachin’s daughter Shriya Pilgaonkar. As part of the contest, audiences (daughters) in UFO theatres will be invited to share their real life stories about what they have done for their fathers and winning father-daughter duos will be invited to participate in the film’s promotion.

Usha Jadhav who started her career in cinema with a small role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Traffic Signal, has come a long in just six years. Today she stares at the National award for Best Actress with some disbelief and a lot of gratitude. Usha says, “It does seem a bit unreal. I knew my performance in <em>Dhag</em> had been applauded. But to have beaten all my favourite actresses like Sridevi, Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra is something that is yet to sink in. The competition was so tough this year. I didn’t think I stood a chance.”

Akshay Kumar signs Tanisha for Marathi film Adhantari

Having created a status for himself with his hit films like Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Oh My God, Khiladi 786 and the recent <em>Special 26</em>, Akshay Kumar, in his aim to expand his reach in the regional cinema space is producing his second Marathi film <em>Adhantari</em>. In a brief chat with <em>Tellychakkar.com</em>, Kumar said, "I think it is important for any producer to back regional films. As for me, I have earlier made <em>72 Miles</em> in Marathi and now I am making <em>Paaji in Trouble</em> in Punjabi and <em>Adhantari</em> in Marathi.”

Riteish Deshmukh plans Hindi remake of his Balak Palak

Emboldened by the response of his Marathi film Balak Palak on the very first day of its release, debutant producer Riteish Deshmukh has revealed that he is mulling to remake the film in Hindi. Observed Riteish, "The kind of feedback we have got, I think we will be looking forward to making this film in Hindi.” The film talks about curiosity about sex among adolescents.
