#SalmanVerdict: TV fraternity reacts to Salman Khan conviction

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been sentenced to 5 years in jail for 2002 hit-and-run case. The verdict has shocked many. People took to Twitter to express their opinions and we here at Tellychakkar.com spoke to folks from the television fraternity and asked their take on the judgment. Read on:

Hiten Tejwani

It is really shocking and sad for the entire nation.

Sumona Chakravarti

Sorry but I don’t want to comment on it.

Himani Shivpuri

I have worked with Salman Khan and he is very dear to me. I still can’t believe the decision as it is really shocking. He is a good human being and he has done many good deeds for others. The decision is really disturbing for me.

Aditi Sajwan

OMG! It is an unexpected decision and really an awful one.

J D Majethia

It’s really not good for the industry from business perspective. His movies usually do good business and generate employment for many. It’s a big loss that way.

Giaa Manek

I am extremely upset because nobody knows the real truth and being a die-hard fan, I am only praying for him.

Aditya Redij

I think he has been suffering from the last 14 years. The Court should have announced verdict earlier. Salman has also done good deeds for others.

Sargun Mehta

I don’t want to comment on it.

Kanwar Dhillon

The news is really very shocking and sad too. Wish all our prayers and love helps him in this difficult time.

Sukesh Motwani

I think law will take its own course. On one hand there is admiration and love for Salman and on the other is the desire for law. So I think there will be no extreme reaction by anyone.

Vikas Gupta

I am no one to comment on the case and I feel law will take its course. Salman has entertained the world and we all love him. All I can pray is that the punishment is not very harsh on him.

Dimple Jhangiani

He is the man who has stood for everyone, but just because he is ‘the Salman Khan' people like to see him in trouble. The man who feeds poor people, the man who treats sick people deserves way better in life than 5 years of imprisonment! All the wishes and prayers of his fans are with him!

Asit Modi

I think Court is doing its work but I am really sad with the verdict.

Mahhi Vij

It’s a sad day for all Salman Khan fans. I think the decision was not fair when compared to the good deeds that he has done over the years. Firstly I think why to sleep on pavements? It’s meant to walk and not to sleep. I know it’s his mistake but he doesn’t deserve such a sentence.

Ravi Dubey

The verdict came out as a shocker to me and Sargun. We both are big Salman Khan fans and we know he is a great hearted guy. The accident was unintentional but the other side I respect the law that it’s equal for all of us. I hope and pray for his family and may God give them strength.
