MUMBAI : Surya asks Imlie why is his family important to her when she is staying here for just an year and why she wants to change his family’s rules. Imlie says she doesn’t want to, this’s house has a rule that husband and wife stay together in a same room and husband always dominates wife, all these rules are forced on everyone just because something wrong happened to Indira years ago. Surya says he doesn’t want to argue and is going out to sleep. He walks out with a pillow. Nirmala notices him and asks if he is going to sleep outside. Surya says he is going to get water. Nirmala asks with pillow. Imlie says it’s for Nirmala to make her feel comfortable while guarding them outside the room. Nirmala asks what does she mean. Surya says nothing and asks her to go and rest. He closes door and says he will sleep on couch. Imlie continues to argue that she can’t get sleep in his presence. Surya sleeps at the door to stop her from leaving.

Malti tells Nirmala that because of failed plan, Surya is sleeping in Imlie’s room; Imlie will not get out of the house easily now. Malti says she wants even Surya to leave this house. Malti says Surya is her brother, he was living happily with his girlfriend Anjali and was even planning to marry her before coming to Purvaiya, but now there is no chance. Nirmala asks her to give Anjali’s number. Next morning, Suurya wakes up and sees Imlie shivering in sleeping. He tries to touch her, but stops recalling earlier incident. Nirmala calls Anjali from Malti’s number. Anjali wakes up and asks why Malti is calling her early morning. Nirmala says she is Malti and Surya’s mother Nirmala speaking and knows about her and Surya’s relationship. Anjali nervously asks who informed her about them. Nirmala says Surya himself had informed and asks her to reach Purvaiya soon as Surya is missing her.

Surya notices Indira watering plants and walks to her. Indira asks what is he doing here. Surya says he knows she waters plants whenever she is tensed, she should share her problem with him. Indira says he has changed. Surya asks he changed? Indira says their choice was same earlier, but now he follows Imlie; asks if he thinks her thinking is wrong; he knows what happened to Raman because of choice. Surya says his first priority is her. Indira says she fears same thing will repeat with Imlie’s entry, Surya made a mistake and she needs to correct it or else family will be wronged.

Anjali calls on Surya’s number. Imlie picks call in sleep. Anjali asks who is speaking, if it’s Surya’s number. Imlie realizes her mistake and says she will handover phone to Surya and walks down. She informs Surya that some Anjali had called. Surya asks why did she pick call. Anjali calls him repeatedly and he disconnects it. Imlie requests him to drop her to school as today is last date to submit exam form for next year. Surya agrees and asks her to get ready. Nirmala asks Surya if everything is alright. Surya says yes. He walks aside and picks Anjali’s call. Anjali asks why didn’t he pick her call and reveals that she reached Purvaiya bus station as his mother called her and informed that he is missing her, she will reach his home directly from here. Surya asks her to wait right there and leaves home.

Imlie walks down ready and asks Hemalatha about Surya. Nirmala says he went out. Imlie says she needs to visit school to fill exam form. Nirmala hears that and says she can’t go out today as she needs to perform kitchen ritual today. Imlie says today is the last day of filling form and school is open only till 4 p.m,, so she will return and perform ritual. Nirmala refuses to let her go and says she is wasting time; Surya and Mahesh go out for work and women here handle house, everyone knows their responsibility in this house. Imlie says these are age-old rules, things have changed now, will she stop Hemalatha if se wants to work outside the house. Nirmala asks if she wants Mahesh to take care of children at home and Hemalatha go out and dance for others. Nirmala says she should allow others to make a choice of their profession. Indira asks Hemalatha and Nirmala if her rules are harmful to them. Hemalatha nods yes while Nirmala nods no. Imlie says she is just saying that everyone should get a freedom of choice.
