It would be nice if a TV artist doesn't win Jhalak this year: Sophie Choudry

Sophie Choudry
She is elegance personified. She is savvy, saucy, sexy and charming beyond limits. Yes, we are talking about Sophie Choudry who got eliminated from Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa last week. Tellychakkar.com entered into a candid chat with the lovely lady wherein she spoke about her journey in the show, future plans and more. Read on… How was your journey in the show? It was emotional, physically and mentally challenging and definitely memorable! I'm extremely proud that I was the one contestant who tried not only a new dance style each week but a new look... People who don't know me probably thought I would be a delicate darling and a red carpet diva but I ended up showing tremendous fighting spirit, the ability to try everything from Bachata and jive to aerial, contemporary and even Acrobatia and I was everything from an alien to fish. I'm heartbroken that I was eliminated at this stage but I'm proud of how I took risks and how I conducted myself on the show. I think I managed to win a lot of love and respect in the eyes of the judges and the audience! Do think if you had not injured yourself you would have reached the finale? My injury was devastating and much worse than people think. I don't like to create unnecessary drama so I put up a brave front... I wept backstage and for the next two weeks I was on injections and pain killers. But I emerged stronger. My injury is not the reason for my not reaching the finals. I don't know what the reason is. But that isn't it! You will see what a tough fight I have given in the face off and how brilliant my teen ka tadka act is. The judges called it a 30 act! I'm proud that even while leaving I made a mark! Your wow moment in the show? Every week that I was safe was a wow moment because it meant that audiences are voting, they want to see me on the show and are connecting with me. For that I'm truly grateful! Other than that, performing the Mr. India act in front of Salman Khan, his compliments, singing with him and getting a perfect 30. I also got to dance with Madhuriji that day! Another wow moment was when Bebo (Kareena Kapoor) came on the show and told everyone how proud she is of me and that she wants me to win! I love her for that! Who do you think deserves to win Jhalak this year? Everyone has worked hard ... Ashish shoots all day and rehearses at night which is never easy. He's lovely. Akshat is a little kid who has got this far only due to his hard work. He has been the most consistent and deserves all the happiness. Punit and Mouni have always been the favourites but since Gurmeet and Drashti have won it in the past, it would be nice if for a change a TV artist doesn't win this year! What next now? I'm known to be one of the best singer performers on the live show circuit but only people who have seen my shows know that about me! Now thanks to Jhalak a worldwide audience has seen the performer and hard worker in me so I'm looking forward to rocking the stage this season. And I'm actually on my way to a film narration! One journey may have ended but a beautiful one is about to begin! Any contestant you think doesn’t deserve to be in the competition till now? I wouldn't like to comment on that. Everyone has worked hard. Any plans to do more reality shows? I said no to Jhalak for the past 3 years not to mention every other reality show that was offered to me! It's not something I ever wanted to do but at least Jhalak gives you the chance to showcase your talent, you learn while on the show and I'm sure I have emerged a better dancer, a stronger person and someone for whom the audience will hold a place in their hearts!
