Tiny feet are now taking huge strides. Ambition drives them to their goals at a tender age. Two 10 year olds have entered into a reel life wed lock and this relationship makes them small screen’s most celebrated ‘tiny’ couple. Also, they are the youngest protagonists on any television show. Mumbai’s Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee play Anandi and Jagdish respectively, the tiny couple in Sphere Origins’ Balika Vadhu - Kacchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte on Colors. Before quizzing them on their show, the two tiny tots reveal their future plans. “I left Delhi for Mumbai so as to pursue my dream. I want to become Shah Rukh Khan,” thunders Avinash. Avika doesn’t hesitate in saying that she wants to be Miss Universe. Child marriage is alien to urban kids. So, what do Avika and Avinash think about it? “I don’t know much but what I know is that this shouldn’t happen. Besides, I’m too small to talk on this issue,” says Avika. Avinash adds, “I’ve read in school that child marriage is bad and we should only marry once we turn adults.’ When asked how is it to enact the life of a young bride, Avika gushes, “I’m too young to comment on that. We play and at times even fight throughout the day. Besides, Avinash and I have worked together before in Rajkumar Arryan. When not shooting I spent most of my time swimming. My co-actors have taught me swimming. So, is Avika among the pampered lot? “No, I’d like to believe it’s me. In fact, we often pull her leg,” says the groom. “Yes, I’m often teased as gaonwali (villager) as I stay in Mulund, which is far from the where my co-actors live,” avers the little girl. Finally, ask them how their family and friends has taken to their reel marriage and the two come up with intriguing response. “My family compliments me for my bridal wear and jewellery. At my age, we don’t get to wear such clothes and jewellery,” quips Avika. Our groom unflinchingly says, “My principal is kind enough to give me leave. My friends always keep heckling me that since I have many contacts, I should find a role for them too. In fact, I’ve enabled one of them to get an ad.” Great job Avinash! We hope you can help find your friend an Anandi too
