Success changes everyone: Salman Yusuff Khan

Salman Yusuff Khan

Tall, dark and handsome Salman Yusuff Khan’s journey to stardom is nothing less than a fairy tale. From winning a dance reality show Dance India Dance 1 to becoming an actor on silver screen with ABCD, Salman has created a niche for himself.

After training many stars in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Salman is all set to shake his legs in the dance reality show for the first time as a participant himself. In conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Salman opened up about Jhalak, his journey in the industry, his little angle and more.

Excerpt.

Salman, being a dancer yourself, do you think participating in Jhalak is an added advantage for you?

Not really. I have a particular set of skills whereas my co-contestants are widely popular among the masses. Compared to their fan following I only have a bit of knowledge about dancing. I have to prove my mettle in the show otherwise I won’t survive in the game for a long period of time.

So, would you say that being dancer has its own disadvantages?

I won’t say that but yes, I have always been a performer and hence I have some added expectations, which I have to deliver.

You have been a choreographer yourself in the same show, so, do you add your own inputs whenever needed?

I believe once a choreographer is always a choreographer. At times I do give suggestions to my choreographer very politely and softly asking to make a few changes (tongue out).

You trained Lauren in earlier seasons of Jhalak and she went on to judge the show last year. Don’t you feel bad that now you are only participating as a contestant?

See, everyone has a journey. Lauren’s journey is different from mine. I am really happy for her that she is doing really great in her career. On my part, I am really happy that I have the chance to dance to again and again. I just want to enjoy this phase.

Whom do you consider to be your biggest competitor in Jhalak?

None. This time I am participating in Jhalak just to make my journey memorable. Though my son will not be able to understand anything, he will watch it nevertheless. So, I am sure that I am going to make each and every episode special.

How has fatherhood changed you?

Ahhh!!! Fatherhood has made me much stronger and a responsible person. I think it is the best thing that has ever happened to me. As a father all I want is that my son should grow up as a responsible citizen.

You are very close to Remo Dsouza, but you were not a part of ABCD 2?

Well, Remo Sir was only producing the second instalment of ABCD and we had a word, where he mentioned that he wanted me to essay an important role and not a mere side character.

Salman are you open to do fiction shows?

See, that depends on the concept of the shows. I am ready to supernatural shows as well if the script and concept looks enough interesting to me.

Finally, do you think that success has changed you?

Success changes everyone. Success gives an individual a different kind of confidence that reflects in their looks and personality. But, of course, it’s up to us that how we maintain that confidence and doesn’t let it change into arrogance, which is very much important.

We understand that Salman and we wish all the luck for Jhalak.
