The light-eyed actor Chaitanya Chaudhary is a complete package of looks and talent. The actor first made his way to success with daily soaps and now with action-thriller, Aahat on Sony. With bigger dreams in his eyes, Chaudhary gets candid with TellyChakkar. How did television happen to you? I had acted in a movie, Kyun by Kalpana Lajmi. The critics appreciated my performance. After that someone from Balaji Telefilms asked me to audition for their show Kahiin To Hoga. They had seen the posters of my ads and had liked me. I auditioned and that’s how I got Akshat, my first character on television. You’re playing a lead in Aahat. Tell us more about it. Aahat is a fun experience. It is different from the daily soaps. Fireworks (the production house) has been fantastic to work with. They have given brilliant shows like CID. You know it’s funny but both of us had always wanted to work with each other but nothing happened. Aahat was a challenge after daily soaps. It included lot of action and that is what attracted me. How is it different from the family dramas? Both are two different genres of television with their own good points. Family dramas are more emotional and it’s like a self-discovery to find so many different emotions in you whereas an action-thriller is a different experience altogether. You opened the new season of Boogie Woogie... (Laughs) Yes with my dance performance to a catchy song from the film Prince. It was good working with Javed (Jaffery), Naved (Jaffery) and Ravi (Behl). It was very prestigious to be a part of a show we have grown up watching and is still popular after 15 years. Which is that one reality show on television you would love to be a part of? I love to dance. And I already have been a part of a dance reality show. But, if given a chance I would love to do more reality shows. You also went the Bollywood way and returned to television. Do you regret any of your decisions? Not exactly. Let me admit that television was initially like a compromise to me but now I don’t differentiate between them. Television has given a lot to me. However, movies have always been my dream. With whom do you get along the most in the industry? I get along the most with Bakhtiyaar (Irani). What are your future plans? Any projects in hand? Right now, it’s only Aahat. Any message for your female fans… Thank you everyone for all your love and support. Keep loving me!
