MUMBAI: Childhood they say are the best days of ones life and that Shruti has had a beautiful childhood with fun and naughtiness galore is quiet evident. "I looked horrible as a kid" exclaims shruti but we'd like to believe that she looked extremely cute as a kid. One look at Shruti Seth and you wont guess that she's a big time prankster and that she is a tomboy at heart but the pretty lass has quiet a few interesting anecdotes from her diary for us. The perky, fresh faced and effervescent lady has Mum, Tum aur Hum and Shararat on Star Plus to keep her going besides her supportive folks and a great set of friends.
What was your childhood like? (your school, college days)
I was a very naughty girl, a complete brat and didn't like to study. I used to run around the entire house and loved getting lost. I was a major accident prone person. My mother had a tough time handling me. By the way I think I am still naughty.. School- Ashok Academy, Mumbai College- St Xaviers, Mumbai
Tell us about your childhood memories, incidents and pranks?
I have had many embarrassing incidents in my childhood. Can you believe it I've fallen down from the first floor when I was a three year old kid and I've burnt my hand and my face with boiling hot water too. And not to mention I used to look horrible as a kid.
How were you as a student academically and in extra-curricular activities?
I always managed to get good grades in school and studied one day before the exams. I was into last minute studying but always did well in school without any complaints from anyone. I was never into sports or dramatics. Everyone used to hate me for being rude and obnoxious and I was quiet unpopular in school. I would frequently break into fights with the boys. I was quiet a weirdo.
What about your family and friends?
My family is very sensible and my happiness is what matters to them and they know that I wont put them to shame ever. Everyone has disagreements with their parents once in a while which is very normal. I have a younger brother and we have a four years age gap. We used to fight like crazy but then he's my adorable baby. While Komal is my best friend whose been with me since childhood, we've grown up together and she's happily married now and is working in a firm in Mumbai.
How was your growing up years, ambitions and did you have crushes?
I was like one of the guys in the group and I think god made me a girl by default, I surely should have been a boy (giggles) and till date I have lots of guy friends. I was very undecisive as a child with thousands of career options on my mind and grew up wanting to become an interior designer or a public relations officer(thank god!),I didn't become one as I cant lie to save my life. I am happy with the way my career has shaped up. I was star struck so had crushes on Johny Depp and Keanu Reeves and not too many crushes in real life.
How did you get into media?
Everything happened accidently and I told you I am an accident prone person. I started with modeling while in college thereafter acting and anchoring just happened. I'd say they found me and I got lucky in the process.
How has the journey been so far?
It has been simply incredible so far. Touchwood!
