'RUSH' to premiere on MOVIES NOW

At the height of race-car driving in Europe, twenty five drivers would start every season in Formula One, and each year two of them would die. Who would choose to live like this? Rebels, lunatics, dreamers. People who are desperate to make a mark and are prepared to die trying. This September, MOVIES NOW invites you to meet two of the world’s greatest Formula One drivers: Niki Lauda and James Hunt in the scorching Indian television premiere of RUSH - Movie of the Decade on Sunday 28 September 2014 at 1PM and 9PM. Set against the golden era of gentlemen racers in the 1970s, RUSH follows the passionate rivalry between race-car drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda as their intense competition comes to an explosive stop during the 1976 Formula One motor-racing season. When a hard-living, fast driving playboy races against a methodically brilliant racer, the rivalry that ensues is fast, intense and combustive. Born out of mutual respect and a primal desire to win, this James-Niki rivalry re-ignited the global debate on Preparation vs. Instinct. With incredible power-packed performances by Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl, this exhilarating biopic is a must-watch for all. Follow Niki and James as they put everything on the line in a heart-pounding race that will change the F1 world forever. Narain Karthikeyan, India’s first Formula 1 driver, is also a fan of the movie. “It is amazing to see how well the movie RUSH portrays the on and off-track lives of Niki Lauda and James Hunt. There is a lot to take back - from motivation, sheer grit and determination to the extent to which racing drivers and sportsmen are ready to go to when it comes to a rivalry. Apart from enjoying the skills and techniques of two of the most talented F1 drivers of the era, RUSH is an inspiring watch. The theme of bouncing back from tough situations and proving a point really stood out throughout the movie,” comments Narain. Revolving around the greatest sports rivalry that the world has seen –James vs Niki- the film is a testament to not only the perils of the racing world but also the triumph of the human spirit. First screened at the German Grand Prix (July 2013), RUSH received a standing ovation from the Formula One fraternity comprising of F1 drivers, team bosses and the who’s who of the F1 industry. This Sunday, pick a team (#TeamHunt/ #TeamNiki) as the world’s greatest F1 drivers race head-to-head in the Indian television premiere of RUSH.
