Anjum Farooki, who quit Balika Vadhu in September last, will get married to a Merchant Navy guy Saqib Syed on 29 December. “The nikkah will be performed in the morning which will be followed by a reception in the evening. You guys will be invited for the same,” says a beaming Anjum. Then the couple plan to head off for a romantic honeymoon. “But we have yet to finalize a destination,”Anjum exclaims. The actress is looking forward to her marriage as she says that it is an ageless social institution full of love and responsibility. “Right now, I am too busy with preparations,” she adds. Here Anjum informs that neither her fiancé nor his family are great TV buffs, so they were not aware of how popular was her negative character Gauri in this long running Colors’ show. “It was only his relatives and friends who told him how insecure Gauri was. I then made it a point to make Saqib watch the show and appreciate my work as well.” she smilingly avers. About a possible return to TV she quips, “Let’s see. Right now, let me enjoy marital bliss.” Finally, upon asking if many industry guys would be heartbroken with her decision to take this arranged marriage step. “I don’t know about all that,” she maintains.
