Another Week, Another Drama: Malaika questions the excessive support from Team Super Dancer for Pari's act

 Geeta Kapur

MUMBAI : Sony Entertainment Television's homegrown format, India's Best Dancer vs Super Dancer: Champions Ka Tashan, hosted by Haarsh Limbachiyaa, brings a thrilling dance competition to the stage each week. The show features Team Owners Malaika Arora and Geeta Kapur, supporting the spectacular talents of India's Best Dancer and Super Dancer, respectively. Remo D'Souza leads the judges' panel and scores the 12 exceptional dancers from both shows as they compete in two rival teams, guided by renowned choreographers. This week's episode saw special guests Uorfi Javed and Manisha Rani cheering on Super Dancer and India's Best Dancer, respectively.

Every week, Lord Remo presents thrilling challenges for the contestants. This week's episode featured an exciting Prop Challenge, wherein the contestants will incorporate props into their performances, delivering breathtaking results.
One of the highlights of the evening was a stunning performance by Team Super Dancer's Pari, on the track "Love You Zindagi", from the movie Dear Zindagi. Pari played the character of a school girl and used a School Bag as her prop. Her captivating act impressed the judges, with Malaika marvelling at her brilliance: "I love you, Pari! You're a prop queen. First, socks, and now a bag – you really love props, don't you? Very cute, very nice. The way you seamlessly incorporated the bag into your performance was impressive."

However, the evening wasn't without its share of drama: Malaika pointed out that she didn't appreciate the excessive support from Team Super Dancer for Pari's act, and said, “I want to ask Team Owner Geeta and Remo something. There were not one, not two, but three people who came to support Pari in the act, and that was more support than necessary. I want to understand if that's okay, is it justified? This felt like unnecessary support, not an integral part of the act. It seemed forced and out of place.”

To clarify Malaika's doubt, Lord Remo answered, “This was a prop round, and Super Dancer is a team. When we have a prop challenge, we often need additional people to support the prop. In this act, the team needed additional characters to represent a schoolgirl, her classmate, a schoolteacher, and a peon to tell the story effectively. As they were working as a team, using these additional characters was justified and do-able.”

Despite the tension, Geeta stood by her team and said, “I want to say a lot, but I won't. Last week, I’d said hum kar ke dekhayenge; Lord Remo has answered her doubt very well. Her question has been answered.”

As the competition heats up, the question remains: Will Pari rise to the occasion and secure another win for their respective team?

Tune in every weekend at 7:30 PM on Sony Entertainment Television to witness more unforgettable moments and find out which team will ultimately claim the title!
