Anuj to present the 34th International Emmy Awards

Doctor, actor, industrialist who recently turned restaurateur with Blue Waters and a producer with an upcoming show, <em>Kulvaddhu,</em> now adds one more feather to his cap. Anuj Saxena, one of televisions biggest names, has been nominated as the first Indian Male TV star to present an award at the 34th International Emmy Awards Gala Ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in New York City on 20 November 2006.

Anuj Saxena, one of televisions biggest names, has been nominated as the first Indian Male TV star to present an award at the 34th International Emmy Awards Gala Ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in New York City on 20 November 2006. The Gala is a high profile black-tie event that attracts the big players from the field of broadcasting and entertainment from around the world and over 150 international journalists and entertainment news crews. "It is a great honour to present an International Emmy award. The nomination also signals that the Indian television has come of age and people around the world are noticing us. I am thankful to Anil Wanvari, CEO, Indiantelevision.com, for facilitating and making this possible", says Anuj Saxena International Academy member and The Indian Telly Awards founder Anil Wanvari who has been hosting the judging of the Emmy Awards in India for the past two years, recommended Saxena's name to the Academy which it accepted. "Anuj is a leading TV actor and has a huge fan following both in India and overseas. The fact that the academy selected him as a presenter is testimony to the fact. Steven Spielberg, world renowned film and TV producer/director will be present to receive the Founders Award. Last year, this Award was presented to Oprah Winfrey. There are eleven programme categories for the International Emmy Awards: Arts Programming, Best Performance of an Actor, Children & Young People, Comedy, Documentary, Drama Series, Breaking News and Continuing News Coverage, Non-Scripted Entertainment and TV Movie/Mini-Series.
