MUMBAI: Sagar Parekh, who is currently seen in Zee TV’s show Jagriti, has recently shot a beautiful scene for Star Plus’ Anupamaa as Samar. Parekh was a part of Anupamaa earlier and garnered immense love for his portrayal. Samar’s death track had come as a shocker for fans, so his return to the show has brought immense excitement and nostalgia among viewers.
In an exclusive chat with TellyChakkar, Sagar Parekh reflected on the love and affection he continues to receive from Anupamaa fans. He said, “Firstly, the craze is phenomenal. I am overwhelmed with the love and adulation that people have for Samar. It has been more than two years, and even after so much time, Samar still holds a special place in the hearts and minds of ardent fans. This makes me feel extremely happy.”

Talking about shooting the emotional scene with Anupama, Sagar shared, “It didn’t even take two minutes to get into the character. It felt like Samar never left me. Nobody had to give elaborate briefs; we just caught the pulse of the scene and the characters and performed. It was quite smooth. Even the creatives were surprised by how seamlessly the shoot wrapped up. It didn’t feel like I was shooting for this character after such a long gap—it felt like a continuation, like I had always been a part of Anupamaa. It was a long scene and truly a magical one.”
When asked about his first reaction to being approached for a special appearance in Anupamaa, Sagar revealed, “When I got the call, I was quite surprised because it doesn’t happen very often. The next moment, I was super excited and thrilled to shoot with the Anupamaa team. I immediately said I was up for it. I feel blessed and grateful to Rajan Shahi sir for coming up with the idea of incorporating Samar into the current track of the show.”
Sagar has often been seen reuniting with Rupali Ganguly offscreen on various occasions. Speaking about shooting with her professionally after a long time, he said, “It is always a great experience working with Rupali Ganguly. We do meet and reconnect offscreen, as you mentioned, but on the sets, we were Anupama and Samar again. Rupali ma’am herself said that the chemistry of Samar and Anupamaa comes out quite naturally.”
