Apoorva Agnihotri back in business

The spurt of new channels is providing more and more work for out-of-work actors. Many of our TV stars who were scouting for work now have their kitty full. Apoorva Agnihotri too is one such actor. He returns to the small screen with a new show for the yet-to-be-launched GEC channel NDTV Imagine. Apoorva says, “I’ll be doing a show called Radha Ki Betiyaan. Surpriya Pilgaonkar plays Radha. It’s a story of Radha’s three daughters. How they come to Mumbai in pursuit of their dreams and in the process they bump into me.”

It’s a story of Radha’s three daughters. How they come to Mumbai in pursuit of their dreams and in the process they bump into me.” He continues, “I play Shekhar and Mona Wasu is cast opposite me. What I like about this character is that it’s not a larger than life figure but a simply guy.” What prompted him to take up this show? He replies, “The producers Tony and Deeya Singh are the sole reason for me taking up this show. They’ve always been good people to work with. They tend to satisfy an actor’s creative cravings.” Apoorva will also be doing another show but is tight lipped about it. While he’s bagging work on the small screen, Apoorva’s Bollywood career is still in the doldrums. The handsome hunk says that he isn’t too keen on doing films but is happy with what he has up his sleeve. “I’ve always believed in working hard and left the rest to the Almighty. Also, it wasn’t in my destiny to do more films and I have no qualms about that,” says Apoorva unflinchingly. A break from work provides the perfect opportunity for a vacation. Apoorva, his wife and friends travelled to New Zealand where the actor indulged in some adventure sports. Recalling the vacation, he says “I got the chance to do Bungee jumping. We were at Nevis Bungee jumping, which is the third highest in the world. No words can describe the experience. All you can see at that moment is the ground rushing towards you. Though Shilpa sky-dived from 15,000 feet in Canada, this time she chickened out. As for me, I love heights. Even if it were to prove fatal then this is the way I would love to die.” We wish him heights…of success.
