MUMBAI: Bani J, who rose to fame with the reality show MTV Roadies, is against body shaming. The former Bigg Boss contestant says that it started from media and beauty magazines back in the year 2000.
"It all has started from media, beauty magazines back in the year 2000 where people started the constant talk of how to get flawless body and skin using certain beauty product. Fashion magazine, beauty magazine started promoting the whole thing and the unrealistic desire of getting perfect body! It was a marketing gimmick that we all bought into... And that practice has become constant," Bani said in a statement to media.
The TV personality too was body shamed as she was skinny and later worked hard to build her physical strength and gain muscle. However, it did not have any negative impact on her. She further said to media that people did try to humiliate her, but they did not succeed as she did not care and focused on her workout as that was helping her to grow stronger mentally and spiritually.
