Big B is the driving force to participate in KBC, says Binita Jain
Binita Jain

Binita Jain, the first person to win one crore rupees in this season of Sony TV’s Kaun Banega Crorepati, is elated.

We contacted Binita to share her experience. Read on to know what she had to say.

Tell us about the moment you were announced the winner of 1 crore rupees.

I did not even dream of the final announcement moment. It was quite unexpected and it will be one of the most special moments of my life.

How will you spend the winning amount?

I’m in a phase of life wherein my son’s career will soon take off, so I think the amount will be quite helpful for me in settling down my son and focusing on his career and studies.

Tell us about your preparations for the show.

I guess one needs a lifelong preparation for a show like KBC. I hardly got 15 days to prepare. I made the most of those days and polished my knowledge.

How was the experience with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan on the sets of KBC?

It was wonderful. He is a thorough gentleman. KBC is what it is because of Amitabh Bachchan. He is a one-man army. For most of the contestants, the driving force to participate in KBC is to meet Mr. Bachchan. He is extremely down-to-earth and warm. People of his age would like to just leave the sets after pack up, but he very patiently obliges his fans with pictures.

What tips would you like to give to other contestants wanting to get into KBC?

It is a very tedious journey. I have tried almost every season to participate in the show, and there are many similar stories. A lot of it depends upon the luck factor, so one should not give up or get disheartened. You never know which season will be lucky for you. Once you are selected, pay attention to your phone calls, so that you don’t miss the important calls. And of course, brush up your knowledge.
