MUMBAI: Bigg Boss 19 continues to dominate Indian television, consistently ranking among the top twenty most-watched shows on the BARC charts each week.
Packed with emotions, clashes, and constantly changing alliances, the show stays among the most engaging and talked-about reality programmes in the country.
The latest episode of Bigg Boss 19 has ignited a storm across social media after Amaal Mallik, during an intense discussion on nepotism, referred to his father Daboo Malik as a “failure.”
The statement quickly spread online, triggering widespread criticism from viewers who felt Amaal crossed a line in an attempt to defend his argument.

The debate began when Gaurav Khanna called out the advantages that insiders often have in the entertainment industry.
He argued that the first opportunity usually comes more easily to those with connections. He said, “Where your struggle begins, that is where our aspiration lies.”
Amaal strongly disagreed and insisted that his journey was no different from that of any outsider.
He said, “Just like a common man stands outside Mehboob Studio, my mother and my brother also stood outside. There was no difference.”
But Gaurav pointed out that having a well-known musical lineage automatically gives access that others have to wait years for.
According to him, meeting someone like Salman Khan would be nearly impossible for an outsider, while the Mallik family had an advantage simply by being part of the industry.
Amaal continued defending himself, even referencing his brother Armaan Mallik’s struggles.
But the tension escalated when he responded to Malti during the debate and made the statement that shocked viewers.
He said, “My father never got any support from Anu Malik. We are products of reverse nepotism. Daboo Malik was a failure, and I have no problem admitting it. My father failed.”
The remark stunned housemates and infuriated viewers, who felt Amaal dragged his father into the argument unnecessarily and disrespected him on national television.
Many felt he used his father's hardships as a prop to prove a point rather than defend him.
On social media, users reacted strongly. One wrote, “Amaal insulted his own father and called him a failure just to prove his point.
Shameful.”
Another commented, “To prove your success, you labelled your father a failure. That was extremely disrespectful.”
A viewer added, “Amaal Mallik completely disrespected his father by saying he hasn’t achieved anything. Very shallow.”
Many also recalled previous incidents involving Amaal inside the Bigg Boss house, expressing anger at what they believe is a consistent pattern of arrogance and insensitive remarks.
Despite the backlash, the moment remains one of the season’s most talked-about controversies, igniting fresh debate about nepotism, privilege, and the lengths contestants go to during on-camera confrontations.
