Chandragupta Maurya to air once a week

Imagine’s Chandragupta Maurya is a show that has managed to strike the right chords with the masses. But the channel in a strategy shift has decided to air it just once a week from 11 February 2012. Yes, Chandragupta Maurya will go weekly from bi-weekly. According to a reliable source, Imagine is planning to launch two new shows which will go on air from 6 February 2012. One serial is Mi Aaji Aur Saheb, the promos of which are already on air, and it will hit the screens at the 9.30 pm slot. Furthermore, another show, Jamuna Par, is supposed to air at the 9 pm slot. Now, both these shows will be aired five days a week from Monday to Friday. Chandragupta…is currently on air every Friday and Saturday at 9 pm. In order to accommodate these new shows, it will air only on Saturdays from 11 February for one and a half hour (its air time has been extended by half an hour). Nilanjana Purkayasstha, who has co-produced and conceptualized this show with Sagar Arts, confirmed the development and said, “Maurya is the only show running on Friday and Saturday on Imagine but with the new shows coming in, it will now become a weekly. I don’t think it will affect the show as its content will remain the same.” Ashish Sharma who plays Chandragupta Maurya also confirmed the news.
