Col. R.K.Kapoor, (Producer, Director of Fauji) is heralded as one of the men who unearthed a gem called Shah Rukh Khan. However, not many know that this man has been a mentor to actor Kunal Kapoor, of SAB ka Bheja Fry fame. Expressing gratitude, Kunal says, "Col.Kapoor is my mentor. I owe my success entirely to him. He persuaded me to take up comedy. I was never a comic actor but he saw this potential in me and how right he proved. Today, I'm known across the industry as a comic actor." It's just not acting but Kunal learnt direction too from the colonel. "Col .Kapoor conducted a film appreciation course for girls in our college. However, he asked me to join the girls. Before this, I had absolutely no clue what direction was all about. He taught me the craft of directing," says Kunal. Well, it's just not acting or directing, but Kunal has been inspired by the colonel's way of livng too. "When I first visited his home, he was hooked onto Osho. He stressed on the importance of spirituality and it didn't take me too long to follow my teacher," quips the actor. Colonel Kapoor has always shown the way to Kunal. The 27-year-old actor has been in Mumbai for the past six years but surprisingly he is yet to find his true mate. Perhaps, its time for Kunal to take a crash course in dating from his mentor.
