Dahan is now Karegi Mera Naam Roshan

Last week TellyChakkar reported how Zee TV’s forthcoming show Dahan changed production hands from Endemol to Hats Off. Hats Off had last produced Shree, a supernatural thriller, for the channel. The project went to Hats Off because things didn’t work out with Endemol owing to some contractual complications. The show will now be called Karegi mera naam roshan. The cast of the show as reported earlier includes Farooq Sheikh, Lubna Salim and Yashpal Sharma. And the latest to join is Nishant Shokeen, last seen in Na aana iss des Laado in a cameo. A source informs, “The title has been changed to Karegi mera naam roshan. After roping in names like Farooq Sheikh, Lubna Salim and Yashpal Sharma, we have now zeroed down on Nishant. He was recently seen in Laado as Santosh’s former lover. Shokeen will play Lochan, a character close to the one played by Yashpal Sharma. His character is quite similar to that of Arshad Warsi’s ‘Circuit’. Jatin Shah who was supposed to play Rajveer, Sharma’s brother in the show will be replaced owing to his obligations with Balaji Telefilms. The production house is considering Sana Sheikh of Jeet Jayenge Hum to play the protagonist in the show. Other names under consideration are Umang and Sheena Bajaj. Umang has been a regular face in commercials.” Both Nishant and Sana refused to comment. We also texted producer JD Majethia but he didn’t revert.
