Darpan Shrivastava's father passes away

Darpan Shrivastava, the well-known negative character artist currently playing the character of Manohar in Do Dil Ek Jaan (Life OK) lost his father yesterday morning. The bereaved actor says, “My father Deep Shrivastava was a renowned writer and tantra mantra expert based in Delhi. He passed away at the age of 73 due to liver cancer. Unfortunately this deadly disease was detected very late and we could not do anything about it. I feel so helpless.” To make matters worse, Darpan who has a younger brother and sister could not be with his father at his death bed. “The end came too soon. I was shooting yesterday morning when I got the call. I could not even go to the capital as fog in North India had thrown the airline schedule in a tizzy. Luckily I had already sent my children to be with dad and my son will complete all the last rites and rituals. I will join them soon when we have to immerse the ashes.” Darpan better known as Nageshwar Chacha of Bhagyavidhata further shares, “I now need to be strong for after dad the entire responsibility of the family has come on my shoulders. Till now I was taking it easy thinking dad or mom was there. But now I feel I have suddenly grown up. Just a couple of day’s back, I had told mom not to worry saying if things do go wrong, I will be there.” Despite the loss Darpan continues to shoot, saying, “I am just following dad’s words that the show must go on. Ironically we are now shooting the Havan scene of Antara and Raghu. So the mood on the set mirrors my state of mind. My attention at the moment is alternating between work and what must be happening back home with the cremation ceremony.” In closing Darpan says, “I am humbled and touched by the large number of condolences messages I have received.” Darpan…stay strong and lots of strength and good wishes to you and your family!!!
