MUMBAI: Early in the morning today, the whole nation was jolted with the breaking news of legendary veteran Bollywood actor - Shri Dilip Kumar's demise. The great actor was suffering from a prolonged chronic illness for some time now and was being frequently hospitalised over the last few months. He breathed his last in the ICU of the Hinduja Hospital.
As soon as the news broke, many ministers, Bollywood and sports stars came forward to pay their last tributes to the legendary superstar. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sachin Tendulkar and many others paid their last tributes for the superstar virtually. Mourning his death, actresses Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nitu Singh share an iconic major throwback picture on her social media handles, wherein Dilip Kumar was spotted with the other late legendary-veteran superstar - Raj Kapoor, who also happened to be Kareena's late grandfather.
Even television actors like Nakuul Mehta, Karan V Grover, Surbhi Jyoti, Shruti Seth, Karanvir Bohra, Shweta Tiwari, Mouni Roy, Aamna Sharif and many others came forward virtually to pay their last respects to the legend.
Now, the latest star who has joined the list above is none other than Star Plus' show Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahaani's lead actor - Karanvir Sharma.
The interesting part about his post is that he was one of the few fortunate individuals who not only met the late Bollywood legend and his wife Saira Banu in person but also got to seek his blessings and some career advice as well. This happened quite some years ago when Karanvir was himself a young and a budding actor.
Disheartened by the news, Karanvir took to his official Instagram handle to share the legendary 'once-in-a-while' moment of his life, wherein he can be seen sharing the frame with Shri Dilip Kumarji in the throwback picture.
Sharing the post, he gave it's caption as, "Dilip sir. I’m truly going to miss you and always remember and cherish your advice. "इंसान की परछाई, हमेशा इंसान से 10 कदम आगे होती है।" Really wishing the best for Saira Ma’am. You both had the love of SWANS OM Shanti #dilipkumar".

Dilip Kumar sir was happily married to veteran Bollywood actress Saira Banu on 11th October 1966, despite an age difference of almost 22 years between them.
Born in Peshawar (present-day Pakistan), Dilip Kumar was originally named Muhammed Yusuf Khan. Years later, owing to producer Devika Rani's request, the undisputed 'Tragedy King' of the silver screen opted to take up his infamous screen-name.
Dilip Kumar sir grabbed immense fame post starring in the 1949 multi-starrer film Andaz, with Raj Kapoor and Nargis. Other than this, he's also known for his iconic work in other Bollywood hits like Devdas, Mughal-e-Azam, Ganga Jamuna, Ram Aur Shyam, Naya Daur, Madhumati, Kranti, Vidhaata, Shakti and Mashaal, to name just a few.
He was the first actor to win the Filmfare Award for the 'Best Actor' in 1954 and won it a total of 8 times. He and Shah Rukh Khan jointly hold the record for most Filmfare trophies. Dilip Kumar sir is also listed in the Guinness World Records for winning the maximum number of awards by an Indian actor. He is also credited as the first method actor in India. He was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
