MUMBAI: Diwali, one of India’s most beloved festivals, celebrates the triumph of good over evil. It fills homes with light, spreads joy and positivity, and brings families and friends together to forgive, bond, and celebrate new beginnings.

TellyChakkar.com got in touch with Devoleena Bhattacharjee who recalled the Diwali celebration while growing up, changes in celebration now and more.

Talking about Diwali celebrations while growing up, Devoleena exclusively told TellyChakkar, "Diwali and Kali Puja celebrations are special for me.. staying up and hungry till late midnight and offering Anjali to mother Kali. In the late evening we used to perform Lakshmi puja at home.. the next day visiting relatives' houses sharing sweets and taking blessings. And later in the evening we used to go pandal hopping.. Post Diwali we also celebrate Bhai Dooj.. so the celebration used to be long and fun-filled. Not to forget the khichuri prasad we used to enjoy late cold night post 12, on the day of Diwali."

On celebrating Diwali this year, Devo said, "Everything remains almost the same.. I'm looking forward to celebrating both Diwali and kali puja with my family.. I will visit a Kali mandir and take blessings.. we will also decorate and light our place, may goddess Lakshmi come to us and bless my home, my family.. will make festive sweets.. Joy is making our festival more special.. on Dhanteras I'm bought him gifts.. we will celebrate a green Diwali."

Sharing her thoughts and message this festive season, Devoleena said, "Diwali is the festival of light and devotion.. I feel the festival brings brotherhood, unity and prosperity among us. We all enjoy blessings of Goddess Shakti and the country becomes more secure for females.. while celebrating we all should remember and be responsible to the environment, street animals. And remember, sharing and caring is the biggest way to celebrate any festival."
