Talking about her favorite Diwali ritual, Monika exclusively told TellyChakkar, "My favorite Diwali ritual… honestly, everything about Diwali is beautiful. When this festival arrives, every city lights up like a bride. There’s such a positive energy everywhere; people step out of their busy lives, meet each other, and spread warmth and love, reminding everyone how important they are. But if I had to choose one ritual that’s closest to my heart, it would be the Diwali puja at home with my family. Ever since I moved to Mumbai for work, I really miss that. You know, Diwali doesn’t feel the same anymore because I lost one of my parents… and that feeling of sitting together as a family for the puja — it’s something words can’t describe."

She added, "After the prayers, we used to get a little prasad and money as blessings — I used to love that as a kid! Another sweet memory is how my mom would tell me to light diyas in every corner of the house after the puja. I used to take a big plate full of diyas and go around lighting each one with so much excitement. That’s my favorite ritual — something I’ve followed for years and now miss deeply."

Talking about her plans this Diwali, Monika said, " Well, nothing special yet. We’re shooting for Sun Neo’s show Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani so much that I might even be working on Diwali! But if I think positively, I feel blessed that God has given me work even during such a special time."

She added, "If by chance I do get a day off, I know I won’t spend it resting — who can sleep on Diwali anyway? I’ll be with my mom, and together we’ll try to do all the rituals that my dad used to perform. I’ll make sure to continue everything he started, to make him proud and keep his spirit alive."

TellyChakkar.com wishes everyone a very Happy Diwali!
