Actress cum singer Sophie Chaudhary, who is on seventh heaven with the super success of her new digital single Hungama Ho Gaya, will soon return to films. “I have started shooting for the project but can’t talk about it yet. I might sign one more film,” she avers. Having been in Bollywood since 2005, Sophie, who has done films such as Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Heyy Babyy and Speed among others, says, “I wish I had done much more work. But I never got my due for everybody took me to be just another Western VJ and therefore was only used as a decorative piece. Why can’t people accept that sexy and glamorous girls can act as well?” she asks. To a query whether Katrina Kaif has opened the doors for Asian women from the West to rock in Hindi films, Sophie replies with a strict ‘No’. “I don’t want to be compared with her for she can’t even speak Hindi. Though like her, I am too of Britain origin, I am a full-on desi gal who can converse fluently both in the lingua franca of the country and Urdu as well. Katrina’s success, on the contrary, gives hope to people that you don’t need mastery over the language to click here (in Bollywood). Having said that, not everybody has her kind of luck. She is one in a million.” Sophie maintains. You have not been seen on the big screen for quite some time? “Yes, for I was not getting anything interesting and people started assuming that I am not interested in movies anymore. So one more reason for doing this sexy video of Hungama Ho Gaya was to make the world sit up and take notice. I sincerely believe that with many interesting and different films being made here, there is enough space for me as an alternate artiste.” Sophie is also not gung-ho on lead roles only. “I just want something meaty even if it has just six or seven scenes. It’s cool,” she exclaims.
