Doordarshan is bringing some interesting projects in the second quarter of the year!! We recently reported about shows being planned on Tulsidas and Swami Vivekananda.
We now hear of the channel coming up with a mature love story of a man in his mid-50’s and a lady who would be entering the threshold of being in her 50s.
Titled Sapnon Ka Gharaunda, the show will be produced by Indrajit Media Pvt. Ltd. The story will revolve around a man and a woman, who would be ousted from their own houses by their kids. The manner in which they will survive the test of life, and drive their future in a smooth way will form the crux of the story.
To play the lead roles, Vaishnavi McDonald and Shahab Khan have been roped in. Vaishnavi will play a lady who would have lost her husband in the Kargil war, while Shahab Khan will essay a man whose wife would have also died.
The show will also have Raj Chhabria, Payal Shrivastav, Santosh Singh, Vishal Chakra in prime roles. It will be produced by Karan Raj Kanwar and Abhay Raj Kanwar. The writer and Creative Director of this project will be Tarun Takshay, and it will be directed by Manish Khandelwal.
We hear that the show is slated to go on floors in the first week of July, and will air in August on Doordarshan.
As for Tarun Takshay, this show will mark his comeback to TV as Writer and Creative Director. Tarun has been in the industry for 13 years, and had started his career with Balaji Telefilms in the year 2002, and went on to be part of shows like Kahiin Toh Hoga, Dekho Magar Pyaar Se, Ssshhh… Phir Koi Hai to name a few. He got his first break as a film writer with the movie Jackpot. He is also working on few projects for the GECs at the moment.
When contacted, Tarun Takshay, Writer and Creative Director told us, “Yes, we are working on a show for Doordarshan now. It will be a mature love story with Vaishnavi and Shahab Khan playing lead roles.”
