It’s a BIG eureka moment for Zee Bangla's Mirakkel!

The comedy based reality show is gearing up for its ninth Grand Finale and 10 years celebration.

But readers, did you know that at the outset the particular show was given a time period of only three months to prove itself?

“Initially, the channel gave us a deadline of three months. It said that it will see our work for three months. The channel also said that if the show failed to make a mark then it will have to be stopped,” Mir, anchor of the show, shared with a group of media people at a recent set visit.

He added, “So, I had the deadline of both proving myself and establishing Mirakkel as a brand. The show not only worked but continued for many years and today we are celebrating 10 years. We have survived.”  

Mir, who is also a radio jockey, singer and actor, feels that no matter how popular online jokes become, Mirakkel will always remain special to maa and mashi (referring to the loyal female viewers).

He opined, “Consumption of online comedy has escalated. People are making jokes and sharing them on YouTube. But its audience is niche. Maa and mashira will not view it. They need an alternative. At least for the people of West Bengal and Bengali speaking people spread all over the world, Mirakkel is the one and only option and they watch it.”

Citing an example, he shared, “In Bangladesh, news and drama play an important role. When these two things are showed, they do not watch any other programme. But Mirakkel has broken that rule. When Mirrakel is being aired they change their channel to watch it.”  

Now that is what we call big achievement, Mir.

The particular episode, which promises loads of entertainment, will be aired on 12th June, 7:30 pm.
