Eros Now

MUMBAI: Eros Now is set to welcome 2019 with a big bang! Over the coming months, the digital platform is gearing up to roll out few new web-series.

According to our sources, the originals include Zeishan Quadri’s Mrityulok, Pavan Kriplani’s Bhumi, Nikhil Advani and Gaurav Chawla’s Crisis, Prakash Jha’s Sanyasi Raja, and Krish Jagarlamudi’s Ponnyin Selvin.

Mrityulok is a story that shows a mirror to the ruthless, selfish face of the society and how we all are culprits in a system that offers no incentive to be good. It is expected to launch by March 2019.

Bhumi is a survival thriller set in a dystopian version of Delhi that begs the question, ‘How far is our reality from this supposedly fictional dystopia?’ The series will mostly release by April 2019.

On his 50th birthday, Dr. Gopichand Wadhwani, one of India’s top cardiologists, decides to follow his childhood dream and become a rapper. Crisis is a story of two generations coming together to help each other get what they want from life. It is likely to release in May 2019.

Sanyasi Raja is a fictional depiction of the infamous Bhawal case of West Bengal, in which a possible imposter claimed to be the prince of Bhawal, who was at that point presumed dead for over a decade. It will mostly launch by June 2019.

Ponnyin Selvin is a multi-seasonal, multi-lingual show based on the famous Tamil novels. Written in five volumes, Ponniyin Selvan narrates the story of Arulmozhivarman, later crowned as Rajaraja Chola I, one of the kings of the Chola Dynasty, during the 10th and 11th centuries. The series is likely to release in March 2019.

Other series that are yet to launch are Siddharth Anand’s Flesh, Anirudh Pathak’s Dashavatar, and Prakash Kovalamadhi’s Kurukshetra.
