TellyChakkar got in touch with Amit who spilt some exciting details about the show, his career and much more.

What different had this role to offer that you accepted the show?

This is not something which I have done before in my TV shows. It's a comic kind of a role that might turn into something else later on. My character has a mid-life crisis. He is old but young at heart. My experience has been great shooting for the show. Balaji is like home to me.

Do you feel that actors get stereotyped after a certain age in the tv or the film industry?

It's a fact. I played a henpecked husband in Kahin Toh Hoga. Later on, I changed but by then, I got typecast. I got the same kind of role for about 6 years. But then I was still doing. At one point, I got completely bored of it doing the same thing. Then I took a break from acting.

Before TV, you did films and now you have a stable career in the tv industry, do you miss being on the big screens?

Of course, a big screen is a big screen! I would have been there in the movies but due to some issues, I couldn't make it. But anyway, life goes on. Basically, I was a theatre actor and started my journey in 1979. I really had a long journey. I did theatre for 10 years and then did films as well. Later, I opted for television. This is my 25th year in the industry.

Amit has been a part of some of the greatest shows of television like Tumhi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi, Pehredaar Piya Ki, Prem Bandha, Punar Vivah, Parichay, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, among others.

The talented star was also seen in movies like Race 3, Haseen Dilruba, Mardaani 2 among others.
