MUMBAI: Anuj Khurana is a popular actor and he is best known for his performances in TV shows like Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey, Tujhse Hai Raabta, and Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara. He made his debut in 2013 with Savdhaan India.
Currently, he is seen in the show Naagin 6. Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin has gone on to become one of the most iconic shows and one that has led the way for a lot of fantasy supernatural shows. Nobody can forget the first season and how it laid the foundation for the show to have 6 successful seasons. Fans have showered a lot of love on the show, and, as we reported earlier, the show has taken a leap.
TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his future plans, his favorite roles of the past, and what kind of roles he would like to do in the future.
Fans have seen you in many different roles in the past, but what has been your personal favorite?
Well, it’s a difficult choice, but the character of YUG from my last show, Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Se will always be close to my heart. It gave me the opportunity to explore a different genre altogether, where the timing of things was very important. It started off on a lighter, comical note, but later it took a serious turn. So, yeah!
How excited were you to join Naagin 6? What has your experience been like?
Well, I would say it was a wonderful opportunity to grab. I am really thankful to Ekta ma'am and Balaji Telefilms to showed faith in me. The show itself is in a different zone altogether and I am playing a negative character in it, which is totally different from my previous show. Also, working with Balaji is a wonderful experience and I hope that I am able to justify my character in this show.
The OTT space is ever expanding, and we have seen you in a few, what kind of roles would you like to do?
Honestly, I want to explore different characters, where I can be seen as a different person altogether on screen. In Roohaniyat, again the character turned out to be a negative one in the end, but it started off on a very positive note. I have finished shooting for another web show in which I had to work on the dialect and other nuances to make it interesting. I hope to see a positive outcome on the screen, as the release is not far off.
