MUMBAI : Channa Mereya is a romantic drama television series that premiered in July 2022 on Star Bharat.

The plot revolves around the love for cooking and is based on the culture of Punjab. Ginni Garewal is a 24-year-old girl who is vivacious and full of life. She lives in her own little bubble of chaos and is desperate for a resolution for her family problems and the missing feeling of love. Ginni and her family run a Dhaba in Amritsar. On the other hand, Aditya Singh is a 27-year-old guy who aspires to be one of the world's highest hoteliers. He is on a quest for significance and meaning in his life, and he finds the answers in a girl he despises.

Sadly, the show is going off-air very soon and the actor Kanwalpreet Singh who plays Niyat’s brother on-screen, confirmed this.

Kanwalpreet said, “Yes, the show is going off-air, for sure. We are yet to find the exact reason and we are still under observation regarding it. There are multiple reasons being shared with us about why the show is going off-air. There are meetings going on regarding the same.”
 
He added, “It will go off-air very soon and we are most probably shooting the last scenes as of now. Everybody is not really happy about it. The actor is the most connected person on the sets with co-actors, scenes, moods and everything. So the most affected person is the actor as he leaves 10 things behind to shoot for one thing.”

The show starred Niyati Fatnani playing Ginni Singh and Karan Wahi playing Aditya Singh in the lead. The cast was quite loved by the fans and they seem upset about the show going off-air.
