MUMBAI: Nishant Singh Malkani made quite a name for himself in the industry. After being renowned for his stint in Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega opposite Kanika Mann, Nishant took a bigger leap by participating in India’s biggest controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 14.

Now, he has taken up a new show on Dangal TV tilted Rakshabandhan opposite Nyra Banerjee and in a candid conversation with him, we get chatty about his role in the show and some things about his personal life as well.

You were a part of Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega, then did music videos and now are coming back with a show on a new channel. How overwhelming is it for you?

Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega gave me a lot of love from the audience. It made me a household name and for that I'll always be grateful to God. Post that I ventured into reality shows and music videos which were a different kind of experience and only got me more love n appreciation. Now I'm doing a new show Rakshabandhan on Dangal TV which is the most popular channel in India when we count rural audiences. I think God is giving me so many different kind of opportunities to reach the most number of viewers and do different kind of roles, which for me, as an actor is a blessing. How is it to work with Nyra Banerjee? Do you have to work towards building a chemistry or it comes naturally?

Nyra and I have been friends for 6 years. Hence the chemistry is already there. Spending time and working together has only strengthened this bond and I must say she's a pleasure to work with because she's a great artist who loves her craft.

What made you give a nod to this show and the concept?

I said yes to this show because the character I'm playing is the whole and soul of the show. He's a single father who's also the head of the village hence he's got many layers. He's an ideal man, like Ram ji..maryada purushottam, always on the right side of things unbiased and very loyal.

He's a Rajasthani character which I always wanted to play but never got. I thank Beyond Dreams, our production house, Yash and Mamta Patnaik for giving me this opportunity and they're wonderful producers who are very supportive and encouraging.
