Anchal Sahu is seen acing the role of Parineet in the Colors' daily soap Parineetii, along with Ankur Verma and Tanvi Dogra in the lead roles.

The diva rose to fame with her role of Vashma in Sony TV’s show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye. She is also well known for portraying Bondita Das, the main character in the Colors TV series Barrister Babu.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about why she said yes to the show, the upcoming track, and more.

Fans have always loved every character that you have portrayed, but they have felt a different kind of connection to Parineet. Now that you have lived in this character for a little bit, what would you say is the x-factor of the character?

I think she is way too innocent, and her love is hidden in that innocence. Her anger, care, respect; everything is encapsulated in that innocence. So the innocence that Parineet has, I love that the most. The positivity and optimism that she shares; I feel like I genuinely get inspired whenever I do the lines. I wish I was as strong as her. As a character, she has been through a lot, and she still has that optimism and strength which I think are her X-factors.

Parineet is a very complex character because she has been through a lot of trauma. What goes on in your head when you do a scene, and how do you prepare for it?

To be really honest, we get the screenplays ahead of time, and we get the lines a few days later. So whenever I get the screenplay and I read it, I feel like I am Parineet, and everything is happening with me. There have been times where I have cried while reading the screenplays because I am now very connected to my character. So I cry, and I laugh if there is something funny. You really get attached to your character emotionally, you know, and now how Parineet speaks, so I don’t have to look at the looks in a prim proper way. I modify it to the way she will tell it, so there’s a lot of small things that go unnoticed when you play a character. Parineet says Babaji, and now sometimes when I pray, I sometimes forget that I used to say Ganpati Bappa, and now I also say Babaji. So these little things become so intertwined.

Fans have obviously played a big role in your journey; What would you like to say to them?

I think about that whenever I get even the smallest chance. Because I don’t use social media that much. I am not that frequent but when I am, and even if I get to read even a little bit of something nice that they have said, I feel so good that there are so many people who feel connected to me and my character and who love me. Especially on days when I don’t feel so good, my mood is just uplifted and the fans are so nice and so lovely, that I want to put in more effort for them. I don’t always get the chance to express that, but I am really grateful.
