Tellychakkar.com's celeb food columnist and noted journalist Gita Hari will appear on NDTV Good Times' popular cookery show Veggistan, cooking and feeding none other than Master Chef Ajay Chopra and world class Drummer Sivamani.
Gita, who has reviewed more than 500 restaurants, dined with celebrities for her Tellychakkar.com column, adjudged cookery competitions, will be seen teaching South Indian specialties to none other than Master Chef Ajay Chopra. Avers Chef Chopra, "I may be a master chef but here's a food critic whom even chefs have to be vary of as she is a wonderful cook herself."
Revealing her presence in the culinary show that demonstrates vegetarian cooking, the well-known food and travel writer Gita says , "Host of Veggistan, Chef Ajay Chopra of The Westin approached me for the Dakshin episode. It was exciting to have the renowned Master Chef eating out of your hands and the icing on the cake was when my friend and world class Drummer Sivamani agreed to be my guest to taste the dishes."
On the cuisines she is adept at cooking, Gita enthuses, “I entered the kitchen to cook only after I got married. But soon I learnt to churn out vegetarian specialties in south and north Indian, Italian, Mexican and Oriental (Chinese, Thai, Burmese) cuisines.”
Being a sweet lover, Indian desserts are close to her heart and she can kick up a storm in the kitchen with mouth-watering Mysorepak, Elai Addai, Laddoos and more.
Unarguably, the delicacies she prepared on the show were relished with Chef Ajay going ga-ga commenting "Amazing" while Sivamani's verdict was "Pramaadam" in Tamil (great) as he mesmerised everyone by magically converting kitchen utensils to drums on fire!
Catch Gita Hari's episode on Veggistan at 7pm on Saturday 6 September 2014 on NDTV Good Times.
