'Game of Thrones' - Inspirational to Indian TV shows

1
Brace yourself, not winter but Simar is coming!!! The Indian fans of Game Of Thrones recently survived a mild attack when they heard about Vikas Gupta coming up with an Indian version of Game of Thrones, tentatively titled Rani Mahal for Sony TV. Now, with the project being delayed or scrapped (we are not sure about the fate of the show), it seems that other Indian show makers do not want the fans to be kept waiting. Yes, and perhaps that is the reason why Contiloe and the creative’s of the historical drama Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (Colors) introduced a character in the show named Prince Dastan. While the name reminded us of the handsome Prince of Persia, the character looked like Khal Drogo’s kumbh ke mele mein bichda huya judwa bhai (tongue out). And now, if this was not enough, Rashmi Sharma Telefilms has decided to test the sense and sensibilities of the viewers by rendering another gift to the Indian fans of GoT. The recent promo of Sasural Simar Ka showed Simar entering a hall which looked uncannily similar to that of Hall of Faces from the House of Black and White (face palm). AHHHH!!! So, those who are eagerly waiting for 24 April to witness the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 6, you can surely enjoy the curtain raiser to it in our own Sasural Simar Ka. And for all the diehard GoT fans, all we can say is RIP SSK.
