Gaurav Chakrabarty, who mesmerizes the audiences with his charming looks and powerful acting, says that he is happy to be part of Saurav Palodhi’s comedy flick Colkata-e Columbus.

“This is the first time that I got the opportunity of playing a comedy character in a film and I am glad for that,” expressed an elated Gaurav.

He added, “Comedy is not easy and those who can pull of such roles with ease are masters of the art.”

When asked about his role, he shared, “I am playing the role of Bolohori Roy, popular as Roy.  He is an IT professional and is frustrated with his job. His boss always keeps him under pressure. He is not happy with his life. He wants to write a book and so he is looking for a way to escape from this lifestyle. And then enters Columbus in his life.”

The actor feels that Columbus is a strange person.

He quipped, “Columbus is a strange character. He is the manifestation of the fact that all of us are searching for something like some are searching for a way to escape from their frustrated office lives while some are looking for a better life. Columbus himself is on a mission to search something. Basically, he is the manifestation of the ‘search’.”

The Rang Milanti, Laptop and Highway famed actor opines that although Columbus is abstract, audience will understand him.

He stated, “Columbus is abstract and that’s why the film is different. It is not easy to show an abstract character but Saurav has done a fantastic job. He has written the script in such a way that it does not stay abstract for the audience. People won’t face any difficulty in understanding the story.”

“I agree with the message that the film is trying to convey. The solution of our problems lies in us. We have to ask ourselves what we want and how we can achieve it. If we soul search we will find our answers,” he added.

Mir is essaying the role of Columbus in the flick Colkata-e Columbus so when Tellychakkar.com quizzed how it feels to work alongside the popular funny man, he answered, “He is the master of the art. He is the best. Working alongside such a person will provide me a great opportunity to learn the craft.”

When asked if he too has a funny side in him, he admitted, “What I am doing in the film is acting. However, I feel every human being has a comic streak.”

“Actually, I am not very frivolous kind; I guess my comedy will be of satire or serious type. So, my comedy might not be interesting in real life,” he signed off.

Produced by Mojo Productions and Sony Aath, it will release by end of the year.
