MUMBAI: Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin actor Param Singh has been one of the most sought-after actors in the industry. Known for staying away from controversies and drama, Param has always enjoyed a massive fan following.
However, the Sadda Haq actor recently found himself in the middle of a controversy after he liked a few posts on a page that shared content from a male’s perspective. His ‘likes’ on several such posts left fans upset and angry, with many labeling him a closeted misogynist.

Param Singh said, “Misogynist is a big term, and I don’t understand why people tagged me as one. Most of my friends are female, my best friends are females, and I’ve always shared a great bond with all my co-actresses. This whole thing started because I followed a page on Instagram that posted content from a male’s perspective, and I happened to like some of their posts."
He added, "One particular post said that a girl should have her eyes only on her man and should have strong family values—that’s why I liked it. However, the same post also mentioned that a girl shouldn’t have male friends. Honestly, that part didn’t even register with me. I resonated with the other points, and that’s what I want in my life partner. To be clear, I have no issue with my partner being friends with other men.”
He shared, “Another post I liked, which people had a problem with, stated that a girl should have a ‘clean past.’ For me, a clean past simply means not being involved in drugs or excessive alcohol. But people assumed I meant that I only want a girl who has never had boyfriends or that I only want a virgin partner. That’s not true. I never meant it that way—I myself am not a virgin.”
With Param clarifying his stance, it remains to be seen if the social media trolling will finally stop.
