MUMBAI: “I chose this character because she isn’t a simple, one-dimensional heroine”, says, Kaveri Priyam
The character promo of Dooriyan, an upcoming romantic drama series starring Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke fame Kaveri Priyam as Sonia is now out, giving viewers an emotional glimpse into a story of passion, yearning, and life-changing decisions. The series also features Randeep Rai, Samarth Jurel and Eisha Singh. Set to premiered today onwards, Dooriyan will stream exclusively on JAR Series’ YouTube channel.
Kaveri Priyam, speaking about why she chose this role, said, “Honestly, it’s been a long time since we’ve had a truly good love story. Dooriyan doesn’t glorify perfection—it highlights the struggles, the cracks, and the silences that actually define relationships. And since JAR Pictures never compromises on cinematic value, I was genuinely excited to see what would come out of this venture.”
Talking about her character, she said, “I chose this character because she isn’t a simple, one-dimensional heroine. Sonia is strong, successful, and determined in her professional life, but in her personal life she is vulnerable, passionate, and flawed. She falls in love with someone who is already taken, and that conflict between desire, morality, and reality is what drew me to her. For me, stepping into Sonia’s shoes meant exploring layers of ambition, obsession, vulnerability, and heartbreak—all in one role. This emotional rollercoaster is what made me say yes to her character.”
The promo teases an emotional rollercoaster that blends romance, drama, and the bittersweetness of memories. Directed by K. Mohit Kumar Jha, the series marks the first major release under JAR Series, a newly launched vertical by JAR Pictures dedicated to episodic storytelling for digital audiences.
