Good content is more important than TRP: Shefali Sharma

Shefali Sharma

Demure and soft-spoken Shefali Sharma, known for shows like Bani – Ishq Da Kalma, Tum Aise Hi Rehna and Diya Aur Baati Hum, is yet again seen in a simple avatar on the small screen. She sure likes to play characters that are as close to her as possible!

The actress, seen as Vijaya on &TV’s Tere Bin, speaks about her new venture, good content on TV and more...

Talking about her new show, she shared, “The character I am portraying on the show is similar to the other roles that I have done in the past. The only difference is that I play a well-educated and independent lady on this show. I have a kid on the show too. Gaurav Khanna is a senior actor and a great co-star. He is very caring and nice.”

When we quizzed the actress on dealing with kids, she replied, “It is quite difficult to deal with them. But I guess I will prepare for my future.”

When we wanted to know about her motherhood plans, the actress said, “I am not planning for a baby soon. There is still time for that.”

We also asked her about playing a mother onscreen, she said, “Initially, I was not keen on playing a mother. But these days, almost every other actress is playing a mother or grandmother, but there is hardly any difference in their looks. Sometimes, I worry that my reel daughter might get upset with me for shouting at her. But she is very cute and understands the scripts’ demand.”

We quizzed the actress on the current supernatural trend, she observed, “This is all destiny and luck. We think about few shows, which are not great, but on the TRP charts, they are number one. While, there are a few shows that have an amazing storyline, but no TRP. Even if your show has 20% audience, you should be proud that they are loyal. I think good content is more important than high TRP rates.”

We wish you the best, Shefali!
