Not only do parents make one’s birthday special but grandparents too. Film star Murali Sharma who would do TV shows years ago and was last seen on Life OK’s Hum Ne Li Hai- Shapath fondly recollects how excited he would get when he would see his grandmother taking out a green cloth bag on his birthday. “Both of us would share the same room. Initially she would give me pocket money of Rs 61, later of Rs 101 and then of Rs 201 on this blessed day. I would go shopping with my dad instead of celebrating in the conventional way by cutting a cake.”
Murali’s grandmother is no more on his birthday today (9 August 2013) but he is naturally missing her a lot. He is spending his birthday with his wife Ashwini Kalsekar and friends today and watched the movie Chennai Express. His ideal birthday vacation would be to London with his wife. His brother-in-law lives in London too. His birthday wish is for a safe and peaceful Mumbai.
Shabnam Sayed who plays Shireen Rashid Ahmed Khan in Qubool Hai is celebrating both Eid and her birthday today. She ushered in her birth anniversary with her friends last night. “On Eid we have lunch together and then go out for coffee with my brother and brother-in-law.”
The pretty actress requested her friends to give her no birthday gifts. She did receive a lot of Eidi though. She has bought herself eight pairs of shoes.
Her ideal birthday vacation will be to Goa, Bali and Vietnam. “Vietnam is a beautiful place where I would like to spend two to three weeks. Many of my friends live in Bali.” Her birthday wish is to be fit and healthy.
Going back to the days of her childhood she has sweet memories of birthday parties celebrated in school and the lovely b’day vacation in Kashmir with her parents.
Eid Mubarak and Happy Birthday, Shabnam and Murali!!!
