MUMBAI: Himanshi Khurana released a statement in response to rumors that she is "sensitive" over her split from Asim Riaz and will need some time to move on. The Punjabi star wrote a letter on her Instagram stories on June 27 saying that no one knows what's going on in her life. She asked everyone to refrain from being her "close sources" and to respect her right to privacy.
“My biggest flex is that nobody ever knows what’s really going on in my life. Where I am, or my next move, unless I make it known. Therefore anything anyone says is just an assumption. Privacy is my luxury. Privacy is my peace. Better do not try to be my close source,” Himanshi wrote.
In addition, Himanshi posted a picture of a skeleton holding a phone. She wrote, adhering an emoji of a brain to the back and a poop to the head, “Letting someone create a false narrative of you is a small price to pay for having rid yourself of their toxicity.”
Interestingly, this comes at a time when details of her ugly breakup with Asim have been making headlines. “It was quite messy. The reason was their religion and that got ugly by the end. Himanshi is still very sensitive about that matter and avoids talking about it. She didn’t even react to his mystery girl pic. It took her a while to move on,” a source cited by Hindustan Times claimed recently.
“She doesn’t want to get back with him again. There is no turning back, and even if she decides to get involved with someone romantically in the future, it will not be Asim,” the insider added.
Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana met inside the Bigg Boss 13 house and fell in love with each other. They were together for four years before they announced their breakup in December 2023.
“YES, we are not together anymore, All the time we have spent together has been great but our togetherness comes to an end Now. The journey of our relationship was great and we are moving forward in our lives. We request you to respect our privacy,” Himanshi said in a statement back then.
They broke up because of religious disagreements, Asim later disclosed in a message posted on his X handle, which also confirmed the breakup.
“Yes, Indeed we both agreed to sacrifice our love for our respective religious beliefs. We both are 30+ and we have full right to take these mature decisions and we made it. We’ve decided to part ways amicably, embracing our individual journeys. Respect for Himanshi and our diverse path and yes indeed I told her to write the real reason for our separation. Request you to all to respect our privacy,” he wrote.
